Dr. Ilse De Coster

Dr. Ilse De Coster is heading the Ambulatory Trial Unit at Vaccinopolis. She obtained her MD in 1993 and worked as a GP for several years. In 2010, she completed the post-graduate course Public health and Tropical Medicine at the Antwerp Institute of Tropical Medicine, after which she joined the Centre for the Evaluation of Vaccination at the University of Antwerp.

Since then, she has been committed to a large number of investigator-driven and sponsored vaccine trials as principal and co-investigator. In addition, she is also participating in the coordination of vaccine trials within EU projects and in Vaccelerate, a new European Vaccine Research Network for the coordination and execution of COVID-19 vaccine studies. In 2024, she obtained here PhD on the new polio vaccine trials where the Centre for the Evaluation of Vaccination played a crucial role.
